In June of 2021, the Pastoral and Finance Councils approved the St. Joseph Catholic School Board recommendation to create an endowment for tuition assistance. The fund is called the St. Joseph School – Marion Tuition Assistance Endowment. The purpose of this endowment is for tuition assistance to qualified St. Joseph Church students, in need, to attend St. Joseph Catholic School in Marion, Iowa. Initial funding for the endowment totaled $100,000.00. The money utilized in the creation of the endowment came from existing funds in the Chargers Parent Organization and excess budget from St. Joseph Catholic School. The endowment will continue to grow with a designated 10% of the annual St. Joseph’s Shamrock fundraiser income and from outside donations. A 6.8% annual return is expected with a 4% annual draw (factoring in the gap for inflation growth to keep up with increased costs and admin fees).
We will continue to grow the endowment fund. Any donations put towards the fund will set the school up for success for future generations.
