The 2019 Charger Challenge raised nearly $40,000 for the students and staff at St. Joseph. Not only did the fundraiser surpass all goals, it generated $13,000 more than the year prior!
On Friday, Oct. 4, before the scavenger hunt and dance party that serve as a culmination for the Charger Challenge, Principal Kettmann had to make good on some promises. Much of the fundraiser's newfound success is due to the introduction of a tiered incentive system.
During an all-school assembly Mr.Kettmann received a pink mohawk makeover. He then endured 117 pies in the face. Later in the school year, 10 students will serve as"Principal for a Day" and the entire school will go roller skating.
"I've always said, I will do almost anything to benefit our school," said Kettmann. "We have great families and a great support system that want to see our students and faculty be successful. I’m blown away by the generosity.”
The funds will be put to good use making upgrades to the school’s heating and cooling system.
