Professional Development in Action-Mrs. Hamlett's students have been working on writing as part of our professional development inititative this year.  In the photo above, students are working on original Haiku poem books using the Netbook lab.  In this lesson students are working under the direction of Miss Martin, our student teacher from UNI.

Living the Gospel through Positive Behavior Supports-On Monday, November 30th, the students at St. Joseph Catholic School began the school-wide implementation of PBS.  The students are living the Gospel by Respecting Ourselves, Respecting Others, and Respecting our Environment.  During this prayer assembly, scripture was borrowed from 1 Peter 3: 8-12 of the New Testament.

Report Cards and ITBS Results

Our intention was to send report cards and ITBS testing results home today.  Due to the cancellation of classes yesterday, the report cards and testing results will not come home until tomorrow.  Teachers will spend today and this evening preparing the final copies.  All student evaluative information will be sent home tomorrow in a sealed envelope with your child.

PBS Implementation Continues-The implementation of Positive Behavior Supports continues with the students learning about how we "Live the Gospel" by Respecting Ourselves, Others, and the Environment in the hallway.  The next area slated for implementation is the lunchroom by the end of January.

Snow Make Up

For those of you keeping track, we have had two snow days so far this year.  School will now be in session on May 10th.  August 18th is now counted as a day of instruction.  If we miss another day of school due to snow, it will come from Spring Break.
