Site Layout

The site has four main components; a header, a navigation bar, the main content, and a footer.  The following paragraphs briefly describe each component and the items found within

Header

The header for the site is displayed on the top of every page of the site always contains the school logo and slogan.  Clicking on the logo will return you to the front (a.k.a. home) page of the site.

In the top right corner of the dispaly is the "Quick Links" menu.  The items in the quick links vary depending on user permissions.  Items in the menu are described in the menu area of this help document.

Additional features appear in the header depending on where you are in the site, and what content is available.  On the front page, a small bar at the bottom of the header scrolls through the current days events and the lunch menu.  If a critical announcement has been posted on the site, a brightly colored box will appear in the header.  If more than one critical annoucement is posted, the box will slide through the announcements.

Navigation Bar

The navigation bar is located between the header and the main content area, and contains the links necessary to navigate through the site.  The individual items in the navigation bar will be described in the menus section of this document.

Additionally, the navigation bar will contain a large image on the front (a.k.a. home) page.  This image may contain links to various media content.

Content

The content section of the page is used to present the relavent information for the current page.  The may contain sidebars on the left, right, or both sides.  The sidebars contain blocks of information that normally complement the main content.

On the front (a.k.a. home) page, two blocks are located on the right side.  The "Upcoming Events" block scrolls through the upcoming events on the school calendar.  The "Latest News" block presents a snippet of the latest news, announcements, and newsletters posted to the site.

Footer

The footer contains basic contact information and a link to the site hosting/maintenance company, TAEL Computing.
