Boys Basketball in action against Springville

Keeping Kids Safe at Amusement Parks

Alright, I have a confession: On no less than two separate occasions, I have lost a small child at a theme park. And they were both really, really little at the time—we lost my older son when he was just three; we lost the younger one when he was all of four. We did find them, I am relieved to tell you, but only after 20 minutes of mind-boggling terror.

Now you are probably asking how in the world did otherwise responsible parents (we are) who were spending a delightful day focused on their two small children (we were) manage to lose one of their children. Well, in our own defense, amusement parks are tough settings for the best of caring adults: meandering walkways, crowded with people, and a thousand attractions to keep your child—and you—from paying close attention. So if you are heading to a theme park this summer, learn from my own mistakes by considering the following.

Read more about this and how to keep your children safe by reading the latest installment attached below from the Office for the Protection of Children.

STO Reminder

Registration is now closed.  Thank you to everyone who returned your registration forms.  Some of you have expressed that you are not returning next year; I truly appreciate the honesty and integrity shown in being up front with us.  It makes a huge difference when staffing levels are being determined.

Please let this serve as a reminder that STO applications are due on March 15st.  This application being filled out is a pre-requisite to any local tuition assistance being awarded.  If you received financial assistance last year, I urge you to complete the STO application.  If you need help with this, please call the office.  Informatin regarding the STO can be found here.  Applications can be taken online at psas.org.  When completing the application, our school code is 3271 and the authorization code is arch1.
