Professional Development in Action-Mrs. Hamlett's students have been working on writing as part of our professional development inititative this year.  In the photo above, students are working on original Haiku poem books using the Netbook lab.  In this lesson students are working under the direction of Miss Martin, our student teacher from UNI.

 

Registration Reminder

You should have received registration material for the 2010-2011 academic year.  If you have not yet received this material, please let us know in the office.  As a reminder, this material should be returned by March 1st.  This information is critical as we begin making staffing decisions for next year.

Xavier Good News

State Large Group Speech Contest was held on February 6th. 8 groups received a Division I Rating and 3 groups received a Division II Rating. Two groups earned All State nominations.  Several St. Joseph alumni were honored at this event:

Musical Theatre – Next to Normal
 Spencer Hughes, Sydney McCoy & Shaun Meyer
Non Performing Nomination – Musical Theatre – Avenue Q
Jimmy Deignan, Eric Sweeney, Marissa Satern, Alex Sievers, Alex Gerleman & Matt Rector    

The MVC All-Conference Wrestling teams have been selected.  The following Saints have been selected in the MVC “Mississippi” Division:

First Team:  Braxton Chicchelly & Josh McDon, Honorable Mention:  John Slater, Peter Ickes  & David Ryberg All Academic: Josh McDonald & Jason Milke.

It is time for our Spring parent/teacher conferences.  The schedule is as follows:

Monday, March 15, 2010 - 3:00 - 5:45 p.m.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 - 3:00 - 5:45 p.m.

Thursday, March 18, 2010 - 1:15 - 7:45 p.m.

We will once again register online for conference times. The website to schedule conferences will  become active March 1st at 8:00 a.m. You will not be able to schedule your conferences until that time. You will receive the website address and your passwords next week.  This information will be sent home with your children.

Atletic Director

Mr. Gunderson has expressed a strong desire to complete his tenure as Athletic Director at the conclusion of this academic year. I am seeking a highly organized individual with superior communicaiton skills to assume this duty. A generalized copy of a job description can be found here.
